CartWise is an AI-powered price comparison platform designed to help users in Qatar find the best overall value across multiple stores. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we collect and use data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information when you use CartWise:

• Account information: email address, name, and optional profile details (phone, address, age, gender) that you provide.
• Usage data: pages visited, products searched, cart activity, and AI price checks made — used to improve our service and enforce usage limits.
• Device and session data: browser type, device type, and general location (country/city) — collected automatically for security and analytics.
• Payment data: we do not store payment card details. Payments are handled directly by Tap Payments, a PCI-compliant payment processor.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide personalised cart comparisons and AI price recommendations.
• To track and enforce plan usage limits (free/Smart Saver/Pro).
• To improve product matching, recommendations, and search accuracy.
• To send transactional emails (account creation, subscription receipts).
• To maintain platform security and detect misuse.

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

CartWise does not sell or rent your personal data. We may share limited data with:

• Supabase: our database provider, for secure data storage.
• Tap Payments: for payment processing (no card data passes through CartWise).
• Google (Gemini): anonymised product queries for AI price lookup (no personal data shared).
• Vercel: for hosting and analytics.

We do not share personal data with the retail stores you view on CartWise. When you click through to a store, that store's own privacy policy applies.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Opt out of non-essential communications.
